Witness and iWitness

Witness on YouTube

Vincent contemplates acts of humanity, exploring simple truths in human behaviors and implied truths in human documents from the Pledge of Allegiance to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. “Witness” studies the ideals we seek and attempt to follow. “Pledge/Politics/Prose” springs from the Pledge of Allegiance; “Render & Proceed” investigates the convolution of media and its effect on the human condition and society; “Command” turns the pages from religious ideals to spiritual awakening; “Come Change” shuffles stories for a hopeful tomorrow; and “Wish…” is a dance of humanitarian hope.

“Witness” was commissioned by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as part of 2008 Performing Arts for Everyone and the Millennium Stage.

” ‘Witness’ is a sweeping ensemble piece. Race, gender, and patriotism are among the issues that are explored. ‘Witness’ moves form sadness and seriousness to lightness and joy.” -Carmel Morgan, Ballet-Dance Magazine
